Epic Clam-fest

Day 57

April 28, 2018

We have a big day of treats today! High tea at the quaint done over Victorian house know as Charlotte’s Tea Room. Then back for homemade chowder, stuffies and clam cakes. It’s a revisit to my childhood with some of my favorite things we would eat in the summer. And more conversations.

Nan, me, Rose, Mom.

Tea, little sandwiches and scones. Deeelish.

We just got the boat back into the water! So time for a ride around the neighborhood. Rose is always game for adventure.

This means they mean business.

Nan with her delicious chowder recipe.

These are stuffies. Stuffed quahogs (Rhode Island style clams) with potato. Recipe from my mom’s mom, Milly. Yum.

These are clam cakes made by Rose. I especially loved these as a child.

With a fire going, and lots of lovely delights on the table, all is good in our world.
