There is nothing more precious than spending time with beloveds. Nan is a force in my life. I am so grateful to have her. She is strong, smart and super-opinionated. We can talk about anything. And I love her for that. She has made me a better person and I needed someone like her in my life at a young age. You should hear Nan speak. It’s with a full-on, pristine, Rhode Island accent. She is full of zingers, so often I feel like I have my very own Gran-mama of Downton Abbey. We have a tradition where we go to the Matunuck Oyster Bar. I am {almost} a vegetarian. I say almost because I do not eat anything with eyes. Chickens, cows, pigs, goats, lambs, rabbits, shrimp, lobsters, crabs, snails have eyes. Clams, oystehs and mussels have no eyes, no brains, no nervous system, no care for their young and are basically just filters in shells on shells, so I do not have a problem eating them. So we go and have oystehs four ways. Raw, grilled with garlic, grilled with bourbon and chipotle, and fried with remoulade and cucumber. And a salad. You can see them in the pictures above, deeelish. Get ice cream in the summer. Then drive around the RI’s beautiful coast. WOW so spectacular. Good times I will cherish forever. Such gratitude to have this! Cheers Nan!

How blessed you are to have your Nan!!
debbie downer warning: i do believe they feel pain. 😉 hope not. i wish you two were nuts about something else. for the reason this restaurant is mediocre for a vegan. haha
was telling nana that i KNEW that vegan ravioli was too good to be true that first time! bumma. they mistakenly served me cheese raviolis that first time. thats why i was so in awe that they were the best raviolis ever. x
