Made it! We are instantly in love with Dublin. Everything just flows easily here. We rented a car, parked it and walked right into a happy place.
It’s brekkie. We happen to park just next to Cornucopia, a vegetarian restaurant. Serendipity! (Cute, crookedy smile!)
Next stop, Merrion Square. Oscar Wilde’s house. Everything is just starting to bloom and it’s magnificent.
Dapper husband and statue of Oscar Wilde in Merrion Park.
We read a bunch of his quotes out loud. One of my favorites: “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”
A jaunt through St. Stephen’s Green. Lovely! The sun was out.
Passed some artistic walls.
And some crazy classics.
Passed some lovely street art.
Some nicely done beveled lettering sign painting.
A touristy stop.
An auld school stop.
New hats.
Old cafes.
And the silly stuff. Can you find me here?
Then it was time for Arcade Fire at 3Arena. Stefan booked us a hotel right next to it. Perfect!
Arcade Fire! One of my favorite bands. Such a fantastic show. We were right there!!! The venue was wonderful. The people, gentle. I expected hooligans. Was I wrong!
Yes Regine plays bottles on “We don’t deserve love.”
These pictures do not do it justice. The lighting, the psychedelia, the music, the branding…all of it. A+! I love Regine and Win! Big time fan girl.
The end of the show. Preservation Hall came out and they played the chorus of “Wake Up” together with them and they all walked off into the crowd. The best!
A T-shirt after…”Make it painless!”
Time for a drink. Everyone in such a celebratory mood. Hotel was packed!
And there it is folks, our first Guinness!!! I quite liked it. Like a latte in a beer! Not bad for a first day in Ireland!
