Biking around Amsterdam

Day 41

April 11, 2018

Time to revisit a little Amsterdam. I have been here many times since 1997. Always enjoy it. Kelli and Henk are at work. This is the perfect city for biking. The bike lanes are perfectly designated and safe, unlike New York! I’m on my way to the picturesque Begijnhof and then to meet Kelli after work.

A pass by Moeder’s. A cute restaurant that honors all the moms who came here. Those are all pictures of moms who have visited. My mom is up there somewhere.

Beloved moms.

Gorgeous art nouveau details in the city center.

The Begijnhof is Amsterdam’s best known almshouse. Just so quaint in here!

Centered around a courtyard, it provided modest homes for the Beguines – a group of unmarried religious women who lived together in a close community under vows of chastity.

Then onward past the Amsterdam Museum. You can’t tell by the photo, but the entrance is all crookedly. Love these kinds of charming details.

The hand-painted signs and shop names on glass are outstanding here!

You know you are in Amsterdam when you see shops with products like these.

The cute neighborhood where my sister works.

There she is at her desk! Come on girl, we gots a bottle of wine to kill.

She is a vegan and excellent cook. Let’s dig in to some broccoli with peanut sauce!
